- Processor
The multi-threaded Core i5-460M processor is (in a way) better than Sandy Bridge architecture. An equivalent Core i5-2310M Sandy Bridge gives 2.30GHz at standard usage and 2.93GHz whilst running demanding applications. Core i5-460M already runs at an adequate 2.53GHz, so that's the plus point. It also features 3MB of L3 Cache, not L2. It also features turbo-boosting and hyper-threading that enables it to perform highly intensive tasks faster.

- RAM
This model features 4GB of DDR3 memory with a frontside bus speed of 1066MHz that turns this machine into a beast. FSB determines the speed at which data traverses between the CPU and RAM.

- Hard Drive
The hard drive is too one the best of it's kinds, a Toshiba 500GB HDD with a speed of 7200rpm (revolutions per minute). It's incredibly fast at has a transfer rate of upto 40MB/s when a file is copied within the hard drive. This hard drive has 3D Impacter technology that prevents data loss. What does it do... Whenever the laptop is in a free-fall condition, heads of the HDD are parked away from the platters to prevent any damage to the drive. Fortunately only Toshiba and HP offer this technology. It's a feature MyShop MUST mention in their regular tech specs.

- Graphic Card
The major plus point of this model is its ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 Graphics Card that features 2.5GB of total graphics memory (1GB dedicated, 1.5GB system shared). It plays Commandos Strike Force, Call of Duty 4, Carbon, ProStreet and plenty of other intensive games out there with a liquefying frame rate of atleast 45fps. The graphics card no-doubt out-performed from my expectations.

- Optical Media
The machine features a Toshiba 8X Multi-format DVD Writer which is long-lasting and will maintain it's read/write ration for a longer period of time unlike other cheap optical drives. It also features Lightscribe that allows one to label discs straight from the built-in Superdrive.

A 2.53GHz superfast processor, 1066MHz FSB, DDR3 memory and a 7200rpm beast HDD gives the HP Pavilion DV the edge to outperform from equivalent machines. And with features such as a high-quality HP TruVision Webcam, Bluetooth 3.0 and HDMI-CEC support make it perfect for either a home PC or either a business oriented notebook. It ran for 6 whole hours without question (brightness kept at 50% with WiFi and Bluetooth in use).

HP did a pretty good job with this model. It's keyboard somehow resembles to the MacBook Pro's. MyShop also gave me a Neoprene Sleeve to keep my DV6 scratch free.

First i was opting for pro-book i5 but then thanks to salesperson at myshop i was able to compare both and a finally opted for this.

Its a really good machine, would be best for people who are gaming freaks and on the other end professionals, who use high tech softwares. Its really fast and windows 7 which comes pre-installed is really easy to use. Other than this I'm really liking the switching mode for graphics, thats a really awesome thing that one could desire in a laptop, and especially keeping in mind the current power-outages our beloved nation is suffering through, one should really opt for a machine like this.

I am using HP Pavilion dv6-3140 as a replacement to my desktop PC for documentation, office work and freelancing writing and designing. All my requirements are comfortably fulfilled by this notebook and I would recommend this notebook to students, home users and businessmen.

I have installed my heavy designing softwares on it and they are running smoothly and i really enjoy my work at home and in office.
